How it works

The name comes from rhizomes: roots that grow in every direction, with no center.

  1. You contribute by how often you come.

    €10 for a single day, €50 a month if you come often. Your first day is free.

  2. That keeps the place running.

    Rent, internet, electricity, cleaning and coffee: the basics of keeping the place open. For now, that's where every contribution goes.

  3. Whatever's left, we decide together.

    Once contributions cover the costs, members decide what to do with the rest: improvements to the space, equipment, activities.

  4. Anyone can run something.

    A talk, a workshop, an exchange. It already happens: see the noticeboard.

FAQ

How do I start?
Write to us and we'll arrange a day for you to try it out. Your first day is free. If you like it, you become a member and pay €10 for each day you come or €50 a month.
Do I need to let you know before I come?
Yes, especially the first few times. Write to us a day or two ahead so someone's there to welcome you and show you around. Once you're a member, you can come whenever you like.
What do contributions pay for?
Running the space: rent, internet, electricity, cleaning and coffee. When there's money left over, members decide what to do with it.
Is there a private room?
Yes, a room with a door for calls and meetings. Members book it from the members' area, in half-hour or one-hour slots, up to an hour a day.
Can I organize something here?
Yes. Talks, workshops, exchanges: if you'd like to run one, get in touch and we'll find a day.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes. Rúa Malloadas usually has spaces, and the Escolapios car park is just a few minutes on foot.
Do I need to be from Monforte?
No. Some people are local, and some work remotely from Monforte for a season. If you're staying a while, even better: the more you come, the more it makes sense.
